Given the title of the thread … thread drift is surely undefined ….

At first I thought this was daft, then I got the first one, and hurt myself laughing at it. Once you've got one the rest get easier, but the laughs get louder … seven very well known book titles … :)

Oh Dear! It's been over a month now.:very_sad:
I bet Bob was just about thinking that he'd had the last word.

BobClay 23rd December 2018 16:02

Changing 'boot to 'book' probably helps.:brain:

BobClay 23rd December 2018 16:04

Clue: the first one Three Musketeers.

Tom Alexander 24th December 2018 05:59

Number 2 --- Robinson Crusoe

We have just passed the 1st Anniversary of The Thread That Was Born To Die.

3. Don Quijote.
4. Canterbury Tales.
5. Black Beauty.
7. Huckleberry Finn.

I cannot, for the life of me, work out 6.

Rgds.
Dave

BobClay 28th December 2018 20:06

All good. For Nr 6 think Tolstoy. ;)

Engine Serang 28th December 2018 20:28

If I was smart enough or well read I wouldn't have had to go to sea in the first place. I'm fed up of your version of University Challenge and as for that nonsense with the ship cut into a jig saw, save it for the Naval Arcs. I joined this website for salty tales and a bit of smut, its gone all Cunard and Holland America. Soon we'll have to wear epaulettes to log-on.

BobClay 28th December 2018 21:00

Well to be honest I've only read one of those books. (I've seen films of some of the others.) But I have heard of them.

I first went to sea as an engine room rating so I aint buying your epaulettes complaint. :p

meechingman 28th December 2018 21:58

All too easy apart from 6, but now you've given the author's name....

It might take longer to read it than this thread has lasted! :)

BobClay 28th December 2018 22:04

…………. :thumb::big_tongue:

Makko 28th December 2018 23:07

Oh well!
No.6 "Warren Peas"! Ha Ha.
Rgds.

As Engine Serang I share your feelings, believe me. Instead of flashing a boiler you can flash your abs on the monkey island whilst bronzeying between watches.

Varley 29th December 2018 10:05

You log-on without badge of rank? What a shire, an absolute shire!

You can't win sometimes.
