This is a longshot and might not even be suitable here. I write a site about HMS Gambia - https://hmsgambia.org/ - and recently received an email on behalf of the HMS Dunedin Society.
Like Gambia, they have a memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, Staffordshire. They were asking about contractors to help restore their memorial there. Apparently, they asked the NMA about it and they wanted more than the society could afford. Anyone any clue about what they could do? That ended well. I just received another email from them. The original quote they got was for £1,500. Thanks to the posts we've made they found someone to do the work for under £500.
They weren't looking for free work, just something a bit more reasonable for them. |
