MOL Triumph

Container ship MOL Triumph said to be the largest in the world, is due into Southampton at 1400 today. As I write this, she is off St Catherines Point. Local radio has said she carries over 20,000 containers that would stretch 76 miles. She is reported to be 210,678gt or 192,672 deadweight. Any member at Ryde or Cowes should get a good view of her as well as arriving at Southampton, and in Southampton Water. Hopefully, there will be a few photos in our gallery later :thumb:

Just for the heck of it 20,000 TEU (6.1 metres) would indeed stretch about 76 miles (or 122 km for those of us who do metrics).

She's due to sail @ 19.00 tomorrow. I missed her this morning, the visibility was very bad anyway. :(
