Hi all, been here for a while but I can't remember giving a quick summary of my time wth BP.
I was a 1971 eng. cadet doing phase 1 at Poplar Tech. and phase 3 at Glasgow CNS. First trip was on the Inventor just as the 1973 war and oil crisis kicked off. I spent most of my time on motor ships, particularly River boats. I left in 1986 as a 3/E when the axe fell, last ship being the Security. The wife was expecting our first child, and so took my chances ashore, although unemployment levels were still high.
