Could you please tell me the name of a ship, preferably a freighter, that would have been in the port of Vancouver, B.C. Canada near the end of April 1949?
I could ask the Vancouver Sun Library to look it up in their archives for me — they are very good— but it usually takes them quite awhile to respond. I'm just writing the last chapter of my YA novel (2nd draft), and it would be very helpful to describe the ship as she enters, or leaves, the harbour. I just went upstairs to go through my research material from the Vancouver Sun and, lo and behold, found an April 30, 1949 reference of "DEEP SEA SHIPS IN PORT." The print is so small and faint, I'll have to blow it up. Back later.
