Talking Bank Line...

Well... for good or bad, we have found this new site, and I expect to see some of my ex-Bank Line lads here. Nowadays, there's not many places to go. Let me know if you agree to post here or will keep to the old SN where the Bank Line history that has been already posted, remains. Whatever, I think we should all decide where we shall congregate. The new avatar harks back to my first trip and was taken by "Aberdonian" in Port Sudan.

Alistair.

Nice one Alistair! I think we should all use our youthful pics - when we were young, eager, and innocent. Well, maybe not always!

Aw Alistair, I joined this site to get away from the copra beetle eating commandos but as usual the Bank Line boys beat me to it.

Shipping History reminds me of the old story about the Irish AGM where the first item on the agenda is the "Split".

Sorry, Engine Serang.....
You do knows that "Bank Line boys" also includes Engineer Officers as well as Copra Beetle Commandos? You are, of course, a welcome participant wherever Bank Line folks congregate. How would we get anywhere without you even if you are hiding away in sunny Tonga.

Having just found this site I'm not surprised to see that you and Alan have beaten me to it! To be honest I was getting a little frustrated by SN and was looking for something more akin to the retired mariners outlook. I Like the photo Alistair. By the way, no news about the Blue Plaque yet. As you will have observed my user name harks back to some interesting days in Hamburg! Mike

Hi Mike

I'm still here, but nothing from Alistair lately.
What years were you with Bank Line? Have you seen my site at https://banklineonline.com

Cheers/Alan R

Hi Alan,

1969 to 1983 and would have stayed longer if family matters hadn't intervened. Yes, have visited your site often. I did an article for you under 'Command at Last'.

All the best, Mike
