If my last few communications have offended anybody I do apologise, one to many Hunter Valley reds tonight. If I have not offended anyone than you also have had too much of your favourite tipple. Should I apologise? Nah, don't think so.

A stowaway - on board now?

Can somebody tell me where we are and where we are heading please?

I have just woken up thanks to the Tannoy broadcast. So, first things first is our stowaway a useful addition to the crew? if he can provide cold beer and champagne then that I would say yes!

Secondly, there seems to be a lot of gardening going on - which is good as we can get fresh herbs, vegetables etc, All this is great, but can our Chef use these properly? Do we need to consider recruiting somebody? A celebrity Chef for example? I only ask!

As for the possible use of the stowaway,we need to ask Tmak as well though, as he would have to fit in as part of his Ijuneerng crew.

Right! I am on the way to the lounge to have a livener and see what is going on and discuss this further!

Kindly direct/frogmarch/drag the "stowaway" to the injuneering dept. Knock twice (respectfully) on injun room door and upon having it opened insert wallet from said stowaway through open hatch/door/whatever and then retreat to await instructions.

According to value of contents stowaway will be admitted to injuneering dept (loads of cash and cc's) sent to deckie crowd lounge (reasonable amount of cash received by injuneering) or thrown over the rail if found with no cash or cc's.

There is NO room for passengers on this ship unless they are of the pneumatic nubile and have a penchant for gnarled and somewhat shop soiled and slightly oily injuneers in which case there is space reserved for them in the shafting arrangement.

Actually is the miscreant does NOT know what luxury is an Ulster Potato FARL is as it melts on the mouth have the surly fellow flogged and tied to the Mizzen until further notice

I answer to your first (and most important question) McC,

We are exactly right HERE, and heading over THERE.

The rest of your enquiries can be discussed at the evening gathering of the alcohol testing committee in the PX Lounge later on.

A meeting with a long and detailed agenda, some onerous tasks to work on and a dedication unparalleled in it's rigorousness.

Don't over task us. Everyone helps.

The stowaway is a certain Mr. Page, but he has gone into hiding, seemingly unwilling to ante up the necessary libations for full acceptance by the crew. Mr. McCloggie, perhaps you could organise a search party to check places like the chain locker, all the unused double bottom and deep tanks, all the lifeboats, the tonnage hatch, and the bonded store. If and when found, he should submit to 20 lashes with a wet noodle.

Being a Celt myself I just love the Manx language, it's so melodic and rolls off the tongue like a gob of Prosecco phlegm.
As part of the GD2's Crew Enrichment Programme our resident Manx speaker should run a series of introductory lectures during the dog watches. He could incorporate a wine tasting segment and introduce us to the excellent vineyards on the south eastern slopes of Slieau Whallian, if the excessive tannin hasn't addled his brain.

You should really rely on the vintages from the southern slopes of Slieu Doo, ES. The delicate flavours of moist loaghtan, with a hint of raspberry and kipper. A fine draught on a warm night (as this is) and the added bonus that it won't fuck up the flavour of your hamburger.

Talking about vintages, you've gotta love the cars in Cuba. Relics from the good old days when, at a glance, you could tell the difference between make, model and year. (e.g. 1954 Ford and 1959 Chevrolet impala.) Now, in this day and age, I can only tell the difference between a silver car and a blue car, etc.

Slieu Doo looks like a bastardisation of the Irish Sliabh Dhu or Black Mountain. Could we make potato vodka in the steering flat and market it as Black Mountain Still, another Serang brainwave.

An excellent idea (the 'h' would make it closer to brown I gather).

These gripe fumes, I find, can steepen the old 'load/frequency curve' if one does not get a little rest from the distillery flat.

I understand we now have to reserve double bottom space as we have, I am astonished to hear, been hiring it out to stowaways. We may have to start charging for our elixirs if the deck department think of treating us like charterers.

Time Charter, Demurrage and Hague-Visby are terms long forgotten by our deck department. Ofttimes I lie in the bunk awake wondering if they are any more conversant with terms such as Mercator, Long by Chron and Pilotage? Apparently none of them went to The Boulevard, nuf said.
