Memories of his last Creep down the Reep causes another touch of brewers droop.

Ooo, you are naughty ES. (If there was a blushing emoticon I would use it)

Tom, are you trying to say that our esteemed Sir William is knot up to it?

Straw Markets and Beaches

How much longer before we reach our destination? I feel the need, the need for some shopping, sunshine and the odd Pina Colada. :big_tongue:

If the wind doesn't freshen soon, it will be "out sweeps" next.

Mr McC, please see that your best oarsmen are ready when needed. If we don't have any sweeps, do we have a big yuloh to rig at the stern? Any Chinese cutouts?

Can I be of any assistance Butterfly? Rowing is a favourite activity of mine.

Fear not, oh ye of little faith! Have ye not remembered the lead lined box on the Monkey Island? We can bypass the Black Bush header tank and feed that liquid through the Uranium 238 rods in the box. Fed to the engines it should improve our efficiency to the point where Sir William will not need his launch to go waterskiing on bare feet. Fed to the boiler, we can quardruple our production of whisky for the next 36 million years. :pint:

Um? Yes? Well? Not sure what to say about that Tom. I shall just have to trust in your experience with such things.

Just wake me please when we are there. Another bottle of Dom please Stewards.

One wonders if Dearg a seacht deag is crew or passenger. Retail therapy indeed.

billyboy 28th March 2018 10:08

rowing eh!...Jolly good. Mc C should be champion at that. Overheard him say he was going ashore to grab a couple of oars in our last port of call.

Tmac1720 28th March 2018 16:03

I had the pleasure long ago of a lady rowing captain.... Big breaths I enquired? no I just pant a bit came the reply :big_tongue:

Injuns are in fine fettle if any water skiing is required, I on the other hand shall relax with a good book.... "The Boys Own Book of Screws and Lubrication Orifices" :paper:

Tom, you are a great man and I appreciate your thoughts, but your short term-ism is a worry.

I'm sure he said something about doing some sculling as well.

Or he might have said he was going to do someone's skull in.

"Rowing" can be a very therapeutic activity, until it descends into a full on argument and fisticuffs.

Best avoided after sundown when the bar is inhabited by enthusiastic imbibers. :big_tongue:

Think I might have missed something ES? Can you translate for me please? It looks a little Gaelic to me but, of course, I have been known to be wrong, sometimes.

I think he is wondering whether you Red 17are crew or a passenger? What kind of question is that from a giolla na hola?

Tom Alexander 29th March 2018 05:22

All fast and FWE at the pre-booked cruise ship berth in downtown Nassau. Short walk to town, or short swim to Paradise Island. (Short walk across the bridge.) Time for post trip de-briefing on the pool deck. :pint:

Tom I prefer meitheal dubh but I did not join a British registered ship to bandy foreign words with a valued shipmate, Red 17 not you.
Come on Red will you share a beach towel on Nassau's golden sands?

Does anyone have a Gaelic dictionary handy? Oh, just remembered I have one here somewhere, now? Where is it?

ES you can share a beach towel with me and we can discuss the finer points of difference between the Irish and the Scottish Gaelic, deal? ;)

McCloggie 29th March 2018 15:25

Well there is a bar in Batam that I have been to - Lucy's Oar House!

It is well known in the offshore business where one can drop in and have a pull at the oars and (if one is not careful) end up being the cox for a pulling pair!

This was of course in my past before I was appointed to responsible positions (such as Master at Arms on the GD).

In my new, responsible role however I feel that it is incumbent upon me to venture ashore and check out the local establishments to ensure that I can provide a list of safe and suitable bars.

Now I know that there is a beach trip going on and indeed a shopping trip, but if anyone else wants to help me in my duties to check out suitable bars, please let me knoe.

Meet you for a livener in the bar before we undertake this difficult task.

McC

Absolutely, much discussion and plotting, I mean planning to be done.

Such as who is going to debrief Red17 before she shares a beach towel with Engine S?

One has to be so careful with one's choice of words, doesn't one?

I think two of us should be just as careful.

OK Butterfly, you are the one who brought the subject of ES up so YOU should be the one to debrief me. Not that I cannot take care of myself, it is amazing the kind of damage you can do to the sins, sorry, shins and feet of someone who won't take no for an answer. Although I won't be wearing stilettos to the beach, a beach umbrella CAN make a very handy weapon in a crisis.

Until informed otherwise ES and I will meet up at the beach and discuss the aforementioned differences in the Gaelic Languages. Isn't that right ES?:brain:

billyboy 30th March 2018 00:58

A bit further along theres a private beach we can use. We can swim without the restriction of swim suits, the wonderful fresh air feeling. cant beat it.
