#256 - The location is 1.2 miles off Rosarito, Baja California State, México. The date, 21/11/2015. The event: The deliberate sinking of P121 "URIBE", an ex Mexican Navy patrol vessel.

Link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFQAQQlwKmw

Rosarito is where the Titanic model/set is and many scenes "onboard" were shot, including the sinking/hull breaking. My wife's grandfather lived in the San Antonio Del Mar development in Rosarito.

Useless fact: The Baja Peninsula is divided into two states: Baja California (which borders the USA at Tijuana) and Baja California Sur (where Cabo San Lucas resort is, at the southern tip). They are the only Mexican States divided by a straight line!

On the Cortes Sea side is Santa Rosarita where an Atelier Eiffel (yes, the same as the Eiffel Tower) cast-iron church is located, although it was cast in Brazil. Santa Rosarita was founded as a Lead Mine by a French company.

Baja is a very beautiful place, full of wildlife and breathtaking scenery, one of my favourite states.

Rgds.
Dave

Japanese!
Would never have got there! I was going through Janes’ and was leaning towards a French sub. Very strange periscope.
Not helped because my screen crashed 3 times, just as I was getting near a completed jigsaw!

Sparkie2182 18th September 2022 15:23

Tough luck Nick

Better luck next time.
