The ship of the Italian Navy Landing Platform Dock San Marco (L9893) left the port of Brindisi this morning in the direction of Iskenderun, Turkey, in aid of the people affected by the earthquake..

On board the ship there are Army vehicles and personnel specialized in logistical handling.

In addition, the ship carries the field hospital of the Civil Protection of the Piedmont Region: it is one of the twelve certified worldwide to operate in international disaster scenarios with a medical-surgical team of the highest professional level.

The view is out towrds the airport. What is known as the "new Acapulco" and regarded as the only "fairly safe" part of Acapulco. Unfortunately, the town, especially the old town centre, is a no-go area at generally any time of the day. Sad, as I really like Aca.

Many years ago, we even drove the 415 Km. to go for lunch, stayed for dinner, and then drove home! We have two 500m2 lots there, but about seven years ago, the gentleman who keeps an eye on them told us not to even think about going, let alone sell or develop them.
