You need the book "How till spake Ulster" I'm sure ES will lend you his if you ask nicely :bounce_angel:

The great thing about being misanthropic is that you can hate everyone equally.
(maybe I should incorporate that into my signature)

Varley 2nd March 2020 13:32

Whilst that is true Dave McG I can assure you I have some targets that I hate much more than others. My late next door neighbour was an excitation boosting me to the highest level at which I can loath.

Perhaps I can offer a metrological test. When you can toast a death in Champagne it suggests an utmosting level of despising. Had it not been entirely justified I would have felt guilty. None of my colleagues refused to join me in a glass either!

But surely you're not a misanthrope Mr V?

Scrooge was my hero. Until he succumbed to social media pressure.

What a pity, he spoke well of his neighbours.

Or did he put a spoke in his neighbour's well?

I did meet a nice human being once.

I shot the ****er.

I mean, you can't have that sort of behaviour going on or everybody will be doing it.

What gave you the idea de Berg was a human. Him and his daughter are very strange people. Craving publicity.
And they don't drink in the Ferryman.

Varley 6th March 2020 10:29

Greek mythology is not a great interest of mine but I don't think Charon was ever accused of losing passengers before they were safely disembarked. For the overly suspicious perhaps paying him by credit card or through an IATA accredited agency would cover for any 'come back'. But then again there were precious few of those and none ended well.

BobClay 6th March 2020 13:09

My guess flashing a credit card would have been closely followed by: 'Man overboard.'

Coinage only, scrutinised carefully by the eyeball.
