Strike that flag, the 3 legged cat, and proudly raise the Red Hand of Ulster.

God Save The Queen, and all her wee wanes.

Tmac1720 21st January 2022 12:22

Ahhh the good and loyal citizens of Norn Iron, we are the last bastions of democracy or I think that is what Boris called us. "Bastions, you are all bastions"

Engine Serang 21st January 2022 13:48

Indeed, and to welcome the Chief back we are having a Bushmills Extravaganza tonight.

What is a Bushmills Extravaganza I hear you ask, well I'm not so sure myself but I'll ask those nice people up at the Giants Causeway, they might know.

Varley 22nd January 2022 14:18

A clear conscience? Just because it can be seen-through doesn't make it clear!

It is those that live elsewhere yet would be taxed here that cloud the issue. As for money laundering it is just as illegal here as elsewhere, anyway we surely would all like our lucre clean rather than filthy.

It is not orthopedics that his colours lack but apostrophes!

God Bless Accommodating Mona, long may she reign. Impoverished middle classes with substantial pensions and investments need her "light touch" in more ways than one.
Lets shower money on the very flexible Tyndwald and House of Keys, I've registered my Cessna 152 in Isle of Mona for less than taxing the Lexus in Dublin.

All stand for the Manx Anthem:

Well, I don't care if the sun don't shine
I don't care if the bells don't chime
Just as long as you let me
And I don't care if the tops don't spin
I don't care if the gins won't gin
Just as long as you let me

So Mona, let it rain, let it snow
Let the cold north wind blow
Just as long as you let me
North or south, east or west
You know I will stand the test
Just as long as you let me

Yee - Ha.

Tmac1720 22nd January 2022 16:49

Awwww crap... he's pissed again :big_tongue:

billyboy 22nd January 2022 22:55

I never knew he drank, till he came home sober once!

Mixes well with Bunker C.

Engine Serang 23rd January 2022 06:39

YM you're Navy now, whiskey and soda, Pinkers and G&T may be adulterated, all else is taken neat. Should you wish to add "Coke", Pepsi or otherwise to Bushmills or Shirley then it is suggested you consider a return to the permanent way or become a drummer in a rock band.

The above may shock and dismay you but you know our primary concern is your welfare and morale.

(An icey cold Swan is very acceptable but only before luncheon.)

Jeez YM I don't know what time it is in Melbourne or Narvik but I feel you should be tucked up in bed.

YM-Mundrabilla 23rd January 2022 09:57

I am on my handcart headed for Mundrabilla.
It's almost 2100 but I still have two repeats of repeats of repeats of Rumpole and Hyacinth Bucket to watch before bed tonight yet.
It's been 35 C today and hotter for the rest of the week so I will have a Coke or two before bed and maybe a duty free Drambuie or three as I wouldn't like to appear a (complete) wowser.
Are we under sail or nuclear as not a lot to do down here.

Varley 23rd January 2022 13:13

Does not etiquette demand you don't take a Swan without HM's permission? And of course we must be neat when we do so. And tidy.

If I see anything with RBMK on it in Cyrillic down there me, the cat (and the new very friendly gyro now it's used to being outside its cage) will be offski. a little package set with RR numbering on it would do us very well here but it will not be until we can no longer light the hospital that the obstinati will conscience one and then they will be too busy sharpening the blade and packing the obstinatarians into the tumbrels to get on with it.

You lot down there with a reactor with nowt but a shifter and a coal shovel to loosen its little chain reaction would worry as much as finding the flight engineer was a member o0f the BFO burners sports and social club and was wearing a black spotted boiler suit.

billyboy 25th January 2022 08:34

Meanwhile, safety alongside in Mar says.Bunkering barge alongside

Agent says we have 2 coasters to tow to Aliaga for scrap. after which we are to make for Naples. VIP pax job to Limasol. they will fly back from there after a hush hush meeting. there will be 10 of them plus their wives. we are to entertain those while the men folk have a Briefing meeting.

Varley 25th January 2022 12:40

A tug? You have turned this elegant Cathound of the ocean into a bloody barge tower? I can just hear you welcoming the first class cargo "And here M'Lady you have a magnificent view over the backend, or stern as it is known, and the two grotty barges we thought to bring along for your pleasure. The smell M'Lady? Well I believe they used to carry Bovril".

billyboy 25th January 2022 21:37

coffers Mr Varley. we need the money to maintain the standards we are accustomed to.

Cut outs! break out the towing gear. rig a strong bridle we will tow these two alongside each other.
we will be leaving at first light in the morning. Mr Tmax and ES will board them both to see if there is anything worth taking for our mechanical spares or whatever. I want you to assist them to get whatever they find aboard here.

by the way, if theres a half decent ships wheel worth having bring it to me. it will look good mounted on my suite bulkhead.

Varley 25th January 2022 23:22

Filthy lucre! You shouldn't take a long tow like that. Line ahead or it'll be the MAIB we'll all be before before bedtime.

billyboy 26th January 2022 07:38

Ah yes of course Mr Varley yopu are right as always. I had forgotten about the MAIB regs. Line astern it will be.
Cut outs! make up a second bridle we will be towing them line astern. when we reach our destination we will hand them over to a small tug to take in to the shallows.
we really need a skipper and a mate aboard here. Its not right that the owner has to do it all. I am not even qualified for it on paper. never got higher than second engineer except for a short spell on a tug as Chief.

Engine Serang 26th January 2022 14:47

Same-Same Me and Tmax.

Varley 26th January 2022 17:11

I fear that it shows. A least YM has a command endorsement (shovel, foreign going) .

Engine Serang 26th January 2022 19:41

And an Endorsement for using a Sydney No5 shovel.
And a Cooks Ticket for frying eggs and bacon on aforementioned shovel. After a bloody good wipedown with an oily rag.
