what a bad year so far lads. Bad weather, Bad UTI, and now bad Sciatica. Feel like i have a bullet lodged in my right butt cheek. very anti social mood right now. I am down in Sick bay if anyone needs me. Carry on ES, I'll be back to relieve you when I can. I could use a bottle of that Red Medicine of Mr Varleys if anyone's passing the sick bay.

OLDGIT77 11th February 2024 20:08

Varley 12th February 2024 12:15

Filling a carboy of Rochas for you now Sir. W.

Had to check for traces of bothie-bath-juice from the time those heathen plumbers tried to load on top in the port day tank.

As we haven't seen Nursie about for a while, now, you will have to take it by mouth although intravenous would be more instantly effective.

Engine Serang 13th February 2024 07:18

Well done Mi'Lord.

I'm sure there must be some IOM folk remedy that could help BB, boiling whin bushes or an embrocation based on bovine urine. KC3 may be of help, raise the topic at the next Garter Parade.

It’s that time of life when you bend down to tie your shoe laces and wonder whether there is anything else to be done while you are down there - economy of effort.

Engine Serang 16th February 2024 19:36

FFS BB is it Melbourne or Narvik you're heading for? YM is exhausted cycling down to the Quays every day and 5 years of warm Swan lager is taking its toll. Tell MaxT to throw a bucket of sand into the boiler along with a couple of cwt of coal. Yes indeedy Brexit has sorted out the infernal Kiliogram. Three cheers for Borris and Nigel and lets have a supper of poached sovereignty.

Hi .Malcolm G

Because of damaged spine i cant bend down to tie shoe laces so have
to have ones with velcro fastenings .
i have to wear compression socks but the bonus with them not being
able to bend i have a nice young nurse / care worker twice a day to
put on / take off for me .
so life is not all bad .

All the best .

Tony

The MV Golden Dreamer is in your capable hands till I can back to normal ES. Any problems you can ask Mr Varley for advice. I'll be back when the pain stops.

Engine Serang 17th February 2024 06:41

Quartermaster steer 180/
I don't care if the Lookout can see the Lofoten Islands were headed for Melbourne or Adelaide, depending upon inducements.

Engine Serang 18th February 2024 07:37

Ah the GIUK Gap, as was, coming up then its a long oul haul to Cape Town for scran and the Daily Mail and a quick gallop to Oz.

Varley 18th February 2024 11:11

There's 10 days by road between the two - get an inducements adjuster to calibrate the thing whilst off-limits Cape Town. Otherwise stick to the ECDIS or we won' be going 'up the road' but 'up the beach'.

If we wanted to do this to every politician we would need a cargo of bricks for the grand City Hall in New York.

rustytrawler 20th February 2024 09:04

Can we take the pogues with us? and how many bricks would it take to sink mrs Brown and her thick kids?......Last week i was in London and i paid £19 for two pints of the Irish finest, what are they charging where you are.

Engine Serang 20th February 2024 09:52

In my local in the green leafy suburbs of south county Dublin;

Guinness Euro 6.30

Guinness 00 Euro 5.70

In town, Temple Bar etc, much more and price also increases the later it gets. Total rip off.

It was ever thus. Back in my boozy days it also seemed that the price increased according to level of inebriation - they charged as much as they thought they could get away with before the “Ow much!” level was reached. A fine balance.

Engine Serang 20th February 2024 12:39

In Hull and Southampton we salaried Cadets had the attitude that drink was cheap at any price.

Then things changed.

rustytrawler 20th February 2024 13:18

In 1972 at the age of 20 i was earning top money (£80) a day in i think it was Leeds, £480 a week for six days laying floor screeds in 1975 i bought my first house for cash at a village called leven, it was a brand new three bed with garage for £8,000 that set me up for life at the age of 25. I cant belive that now for that same house you would have to pay around £800 to rent it.
