Only if it's a metal one.... injuneers aren't that good with wood :smoking:

Tom Alexander 10th June 2017 08:39

I see the Zamboni is working in #1 hold -- could it be that we are hosting game 6 of Lord Stanley's finals?? Either that or we are having an impromptu game of interdepartmental shinny? (Why did they stop the lepers hockey game? -------There was a face off in the corner !!) OK - PC incorrect I know -- 20 lashes with a wet noodle.

I think it is time we had another garden party. Farmer John -- I assume the plasticos have the stainless bar all polished up and ready to go??

Farmer John 10th June 2017 09:42

As you know Tom, all my equipment is in good working order and endlessly buffed and tweaked. And the bar is fine. We couldn't have a better time for a garden party, all the plants are growing robustly and provide deep cover for... Anything you feel should be covered, or even coyly peeping over some foliage.

billyboy 10th June 2017 12:21

A Garden party......How nice. Great to socialise in the open air in an interdepartmental evening. Nice cool breeze to waft the Pharts away.

Farmer John 10th June 2017 15:01

Mr and Mrs Phart are not invited, last time they brought their cousins, the Unfortunate-Followthroughs. Hung around for ages as well.

billyboy 10th June 2017 23:03

lets make it a lamp swinging evening. lets hear all the yarns.

Peeping over some foliage could be very interesting -- but also stupid!

I hope that that is a Mr. Volt and Ms. Ampere or vice versa. If it's the other vice I don't think we want to encourage that sort of thing on GD!

I find the family Phart are related to the Often-Buttinskies. Seldom invited always turning up. When they're in the mood 'though, they can be quite a gas. It's the Phart-Browns that always leave a nasty taste.

billyboy 11th June 2017 13:26

it may not be in their Capacity to resist the charge Varley.

Tmac1720 11th June 2017 16:14

That's shocking Sire, those poor people might just have their wires crossed.

billyboy 12th June 2017 00:10

remember once someone threw me a Capcitor and like a fool i caught it....OUCH!

a capacitor from a distributor held with tw pairs ao pliers whie engine runnng will charge itswelf. you can hold either end and no problem. But catch one and you get both ends....Wham! I never forgot that. (and managed to catch a few folk out with it myself later in life)

Farmer John 12th June 2017 09:25

Tom, get back in the car, it's not safe with the bonnet up at 60.

billyboy 12th June 2017 09:57

What?...He's 60? thought he was younger than that. He's only 15 years behind me!

Varley 12th June 2017 10:14

Why would a Jap get a stronger shock from one of these unfriendly tricks?

Because they're very into High Q

billyboy 12th June 2017 11:17

reckon some of the sparkies could tell a tale or two of tricks they had played at sea Varley. shocking as they may be ha ha.

Farmer John 12th June 2017 13:23

It was a dark and a stormy night, and the Captain turned to the Sparks and said "Tell us a tale!". So the Sparks began....

Hello fellow crew members of the GD. You may have noticed that I have not posted for a little while? That doesn't mean that I have not been checking in occasionally to see what damage was being done and what naughtiness was being discussed. I have needed the humour and I always get a chuckle out of what you 'boys' are getting up to. Was it like this when you were at sea?

Anyway, the garden party. If you need a hand with anything Farmer John I am ready, willing and able. I take it that you have secured the mules, remember the debacle last time. Hopefully Pats chickens are not part of the menu nor my lambs????:eat_arrow:

Question; This has nothing to do with this thread but I wondered if any of you knew crew members of HMS Cassandra in the early 60's.
