IOM....Could be an interesting experience. 3 legged men, Cats with no tails, huge water wheel and noisy Motor cycles.
I do hear some of the Bars are well worth a visit

YM-Mundrabilla 19th December 2017 02:18

Are we there yet?

billyboy 19th December 2017 03:31

Wont be long. just round the next corner.

McCloggie 19th December 2017 09:21

Don't forget the IoM railway as well Sir William!

billyboy 19th December 2017 11:09

Might even manage a visit to the stately home of a D Varley if we have time. Must dig out a case of vintage port just in case.

Some of that draft stuff from down the offy will do, any Port in a storm.

Ah the home seas, you can't beat a quick trip ashore for Christmas.

Tom Alexander 20th December 2017 06:36

I think Tmac has proven his mettle (and kindness) by giving us the Orange button +. ?We currently have Bishop Rock abeam to starboard and should be in Douglas tomorrow morning.

Preparatory to destination party in the PAX lounge. :pint:

billyboy 20th December 2017 07:25

Count me in on that Tom. I'm on my way.

billyboy 20th December 2017 09:55

Typhoon headed our way, expected to make landfall friday morning. will be busy batening down hatches.

McCloggie 20th December 2017 10:41

I will ensure that the bars are properly stowed and secured!

McC

billyboy 20th December 2017 11:49

Best let Tmac know. He's up in the funnel suite practising on his Lambeg. Must be planning a Christmas concert.

Tmac1720 20th December 2017 16:10

aye I gave a whole new perspective to "The Little Drummer Boy"...:chuckle:

Relax, it's a BAE (Eurofighter) Typhoon on a training flight. :supercool:

McCloggie 20th December 2017 19:40

Can I open the bar again then?

McC

Dartskipper 20th December 2017 21:07

Of course. :thumb:

The bar only closes when seawater starts coming over the sill.

Farmer John 20th December 2017 22:19

McCloggie, the plaggy stewards will be erecting and maintaining bars for the arriving in Douglas and the celebrating of the festive season. If you want a particular brew on tap, let me know and it shall be done.

Cuurently we have Timothy Taylor's Landlord bitter (for me), Stella Artois and Oranjeboom (for Sir William), Black Bush (Tmac), Four Bells (Tom), Gripetini unshakeable (Varley) and of course enough Champagne of the best sort to lubricate the stern tube of an Aircraft carrier.

That's my list so far, ask and it will be tapped.

McCloggie 20th December 2017 23:14

Ah thanks FJ.

We used to call Oranjeboom headache beer so I will go for Hertog Jan please or Tiger as I am now used to that!

Think its going to be a little draughty around here, later today or early tomorrow morning. all battened down here ready.

Tom Alexander 21st December 2017 07:18

Our thoughts are with you Sir William. Hopefully you won't get washed away. :)

Tom Alexander 21st December 2017 07:23

Here we are in Douglas -- Mr. McCloggie, please ensure that we are doubled up and the rat guards installed.. (We don't want Squeek sneaking off on unauthorised shore leave!) Varley, I think the least you could have done is get the local brass band playing on the dock to welcome us. Perhaps Tmac scared them off with his Lambeg. With a name like McCloggie, our MAA could probably accompany Tmac on his kazoo pipes to great effect. :king:

billyboy 21st December 2017 12:50

Stewards. Kindly go and clean out and restock Jeffers Cocktail Cabinet. He may be rejoining us shortly. also rehang his Cricket Posters where they were before. Yes the Len Hutton and Alec Bedser ones too!

Never been in Douglas but I'm sure he is a "nice" boy and very accommodating :supercool: Never really had much success with the Manx ladies either, that third leg just seemed to get in the way :smoking:

I never knew if it was a fault in the design, or a bad crease in the blueprint. :)

McCloggie 21st December 2017 18:33

Secured and doubled up with rat guards in place.

Although I would love to join Tmac for a musical interlude I am worried it might attract my old friends from the police force so reckon I will give it a miss!

There used to be a bar in Douglas called The Dogs Home and that is where the problems started over 30 years ago so I will give that one a swerve as well.

As for the ladies with three legs, if they are the real thing, can they multi- task and look after two blokes at once?

McC

Dartskipper 21st December 2017 19:45

If they have two left legs, or two right legs, they can only run around in circles, so they could never escape.

McCloggie's assessment of the design fault is intriguing, if not worrying.

But then, on the other hand, she was wearing a glove.
