The item depicted was a "sighting-mark"......used in transits to begin/end a timed run by a ship on sea-trials.

Yes, saw that that and assumed it was an old derelict lead mark somewhere. I could not work out a connection to #2877 so I left it.

The city is Kolkata (Calcutta), the building is the Metropolitan Building and the specialist hospital to the right is the 'Pen Hospital'

#2934 & #2975 - That is the New Port (Nuevo Puerto) of Veracruz. It's been many years since I went to that fair city! I did work/live there in 1999 for about six months, setting up a steel fabrication workshop.
