Shipping History should be fun.

Farmer John 16th February 2018 20:30

Read my book, "Seven years bad luck before the mast in Tibet", it covers most things.

Dartskipper 16th February 2018 23:15

Heard some noise from the lower decks, checked it out, and it seems the Plasticos have formed a band.
Have a listen to this;

Not sure I understand what it all means, but it seems appropriate. :supercool:

Sorry I am so late Skipper. I just could not decide what to wear but think I have it sorted now. LBD with lace trim, fishnet stockings and six inch heels, (I just know I will have vertigo by the end of the night). The piece de resistance is the natural pearl and Kimberly diamond rope necklace thoughtfully given to me by Sir William after I cured his incurable rash. (That's a story for another time)

The menu for tonight sounds wonderful and I do love Champagne Sorbet, especially served between courses. Ah, Skipper? Who is that short gentleman with all the gold braid? If it is whom I think it is I feel my six inch heels may cause him some angst, that is unless he likes his women to look domineering.

Oh well, here goes, in for a penny in for a pound.:supercool:

How long did it take you to find that clip Butterfly? Echo and the Bunneymen, Hmmmm. They do rather look like our plasticos with a somewhat Beatles hairstyle. It's a bit sad really but I didn't mind the song they were doing.

How could you eat Bamby and/or Skippy?

Peter Cottontail is pretty good too -- ate a lot of the during the war (2nd WW - I'm not that old!) Made a nice change from horse and/or whale meat. :chuckle:

I did hear that your target for tonight holds all the women he knows. In high regard. (Punctuation error there, but I'll let it pass.) In fact he looks up to all the women he knows, or has yet to meet. If you catch my drift?

billyboy 17th February 2018 11:22

Red-17, is it another time yet? I am intrigued.

Farmer John 18th February 2018 17:24

Stepping out of the realms in which we normally dwell, immediately after posting the above, the back of my hand developed a sort of nettle rash. I am sorry, Sir William, I attempted to intrude on your private rashiness, please make mine go away.

Looks like my friend Bill Ford in command. He knows what he's doing, 'cos I taught him in 1974. Good bloke, good seaman.

No need to rig fenders.

Dartskipper 18th February 2018 18:25

I'm wondering where John and Coral Star are. Must have been in the pub too long at Totnes and missed the tide.

Ahh, there he is, coming down past the Maypool with a big bone in his teeth. Better get a fresh keg of Special Brew on tap.:pint:

billyboy 19th February 2018 00:01

Dart skipper: I loved that old Coral Star. any chance I got i would head down to Paignton. and do my "working my passage trick". She handled so well, had no problem with her coming alongside the steps.
Wonder if she is still floating around somewhere or if she has given up.

Tom Alexander 19th February 2018 07:06

I wonder if Red has figured out yet why they call that block the VICE admiral?? Or did he behave himself?? :supercool:

McCloggie 19th February 2018 10:12

Hurry up Red. We're going to have to leave tomorrow to get our "burlap' to New York in time to claim our bonus. Guess you'll have to use all your feminine guile to achieve ------ whatever it is you wish to achieve.:supercool:
