Sad. The second Dame this year (Vera and now Diana). Who will be the third?

Diana Rigg was active in work right up until very recently, she was always wonderfully herself and at the same time, the character she was playing. Great actor, great personality.

Her last scene in Game of Thrones. But not without one final stab at her enemies, (there was still a bit of Emma Peel in Olenna Tyrell.)

Never really fell for Miss Rigg but as a token of respect I may have a martini this evening. Shaken but not stirred.

On Diana Rigg, I recall how she sparkled at Iris Productions/ABC at Teddington Lock. Memorable days working on Avengers and Armchair Theatre with the wild director Ted Kotcheff and the inspired designer, Voytek (he who brought in an old horse-drawn hearse and made it into Steed's cocktail bar). They were great days to work in TV. Diana Rigg, Honor Blackman, Helen Shapiro, Billy Fury - they had character! I hope to get around to writing about those times.
