What a wonderful place. I wonder if one can actually buy any of the goodies or if the bars are to keep would be purchasers from spoiling the collection by offering to buy.

Will photograph the other two windows when I next pass on Monday. Yes it is all for sale. I could spend hours looking at it all if I wasn't going for the bus ! |

Reminds me of some years ago when in an "antique" store, there was an empty stone jar from Keiler's marmalade -- for sale at $14.95. The owner got quite a huff on when I told him I could get the same article for $4.95 from the grocery store next door and full of marmalade to boot.

wonder what my AVO8's worth these days?
|
Have a look of EBAY usually a few on sale. Bought two in good working condition - why two? I have no idea it just 'took' me that way. Just one proper windie-windie Megger (so far anyway)

I'm the same, bought two Avo's off ebay for use in the garage. Much as I love my Fluke there are times when seeing the needle move from a distance is very useful.

Here is my Avo Valve tester that I paid £65 for on a car boot sale last year. I had to make the valveholder test panel myself to be able to use it. Got the valve test data online as the tester is no good without the AVO switch positions for specific valves. Works a treat, but it was a bit of a struggle to find someone who could tell me how to use it.
Also have an AVO eight that I got from the same car boot sale the year before. Paid £10 for that. As Bob said, you sometimes need a meter with a needle to interpret things properly, such as rippling DC giving a blurred needle. Or the reverse polatity "kickback" when testing capacitors on the Ohms range. |
