Another excellent actor, and decorated warrior and 'man of parts', who starred in the earliest feature filming of Bond was David Niven.

That takes nothing away from Sir Sean or from 'the Ham', Ma's favourite actor Roger Moore. Permanently 'resting'.

Numerology

I liked him in 'The Man who would be King'

A great Scot who supported the idea of an independent Scotland although he lived in the Bahamas for many years.

Ray, according to some news papers he was 90 years old making his DOB 1930 not 1931.
I was born in 1931 and I'm a young 89. Great numbers thou.

I actually preferred his performances in his films that weren't 007. Films such as The First Great Train Robbery, The Hill, The Man who Would be King and others.

R.I.P.

He, along with everybody else, was in The Longest Day.
Film, Stage, Tv. Playing Scots, English, American, Russian and many more.
All done admirably with an Edinburgh accent.
And don't forget - His National Service was in the Royal Navy.

Fair point John but 31/10/20 refers to the date of his death written in UK style (31 October 2020) :thumb:
