Of all the British steam, the rebuilt MNs are amongst my favourite locos from 'over there', not that I would have given two bob for the tin can chain driven valve version.
One can only admire the dedication and talent of those involved in the preservation/restoration of anything steam in this day and age whether it be stationery, marine or rail.

I'm not an engineer, but I used to buy a penny station ticket at Victoria station and watch the boat trains pull out. I do understand that the chain driven valve versions experienced some unexpected results when the chain had stretched? :(
