Go on, you didn’t really think it was going to happen, did you?

Sparkie2182 7th November 2022 18:38

There have been many things in the past few years which i never thought would happen.

Malcolm G 7th November 2022 19:58

That's true.
Just when I think I'm bumping along at the lowest level the world conspires to pull the deck out from under me.

Dartskipper 7th November 2022 23:53

Why don't they commission one of the impounded oligarchs' yachts? Mr Abramovich doesn't seem to have a need for any of his small fleet these days.

Engine Serang 8th November 2022 08:44

It boils down to need to have or nice to have.

"the UK's burgeoning status as a great, independent maritime trading nation"
Boris Johnson

Last night this c*** appeared on my TV at the COP meeting and claimed to be: 'the foot soldier, the spear carrier' of the fight again climate change. (I've left out all the incoherent aahhhs, uummms, eerrrrrs that come between every word when he babbles.)

Why doesn't somebody take this moron 'out back, brick wall, .50 calibre machine gun.'

I'd be quite happy to do it, although I don't have a .50 calibre machine gun, or a wall for that matter. But hey, I can improvise. (I have a baseball bat I bought in Beaumont, Texas when I paid off the Mobil Pegasus many years ago. I had a bit of trouble getting that home I can tell you. Apparently large uniformed Texicans with enormous revolvers aren't keen on the idea of taking a baseball bat on a plane as 'hand luggage.')

rustytrawler 8th November 2022 12:01

For me you can shoot the lot of them,. And as far as Jeremy Hunt goes he needs to change his first name to isac

Sparkie2182 8th November 2022 12:53

"For me you can shoot the lot of them"

Very much the Tory lifeline mantra at the next General Election.

Expect a lot of dirt digging in the right-wing media between now and then.

BobClay 8th November 2022 13:25

... and if they can't dig it out, they'll simply invent it.

rogd 8th November 2022 15:02

Anyone care to estimate how long any of them would last on a ship!!

rustytrawler 8th November 2022 15:35

On a Hull trawler.....Spurn point

Varley 8th November 2022 16:43

I venture to suggest that any argument you should have is with the great UK electorate. Whilst I did not have a horse in that race had I had he would not have been it.

Sparkie2182 8th November 2022 16:59

My primary argument would be with the source of many of our political difficulties......

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_Corporation

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davi...derick_Barclay

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Dacre

Et al.

Hawkey01 9th November 2022 10:51

Sorry but we are getting a little too political. So I am moving this to - Stormy - for you to continue there.

Neville

Dartskipper 10th November 2022 08:53

For what it's worth, IMHO the main source of our political difficulties are as follows.

1) Politicians.
2) Politicians.
3) Politicians.
4) Politicians.
5) Politicians.
6) Politicians.
7) Politicians.
8) Politicians.
9) Politicians.
10) Politicians.

Engine Serang 10th November 2022 09:06

I don't think The Mandarins have covered themselves in glory these past few years. Envy of the world my bum.

Sparkie2182 10th November 2022 09:13

....... quite so.
