Living statues? Has anyone walked through Trafalgar Square recently? I do so once a month for a nautical reunion and the first time I saw them about 3, maybe 4, years ago I thought they were quite good but now when walking from one side towards Pall Mall there must be about ten of them and they are now just more tourist tat. I suppose the response is 'got to earn a living somehow' and if people want to put money in the box then that is their choice. Not mine though.

Cueball44,
Yes correct - The Clay workers. Sorry to hear they had been vandalized. Neville |
More about the theft/damage of the statues here:
https://www.wheal-martyn.com/2017/04...geted-thieves/ There is a slight connection between these statues and 'living statues' - In both cases real clothing treated to remain rigid has been used. |
Yes that's very sad.

Two more:
1. Where is it and why has it dual use. 2. Where is it and who's house is it. Also still no answer to photo 1. in post 142. Neville |
Can't do anything with the old one...but have been there on both the new ones:-
The Hunter is at the entrance to RAF Valley on Anglesey. The House is Sandringham and HM The Queen wasn't in residence when the picture was taken. geoff |

No 1 - Flags of US States. The one with the Union flag in the canton is Hawaii. (North Sandwich Islands). - 8 stripes for eight islands. No 2 Looks something like Charlestown in Cornwall - but not 100% certain. |
