Captain John Oscroft

I spotted this on the SN site; no doubt of interest to some members

email from Tim Oscroft (johns son)

I'm sorry but I have some sad news regarding my Dad - he passed away on 28th July in the Aarandale Nursing Home in Mill Hill. He was 84, and had suffered from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

I have already contacted and heard back from Tony Braithwaite, but I just wondered if you knew of anyone from Vintage Port, Cunard and/or P&O who would remember Dad? If you do, please do tell them although I realise that he may have been among the last of that era. If there is any kind of website, magazine that covers his old employers and ship mates it would be nice if they knew but I realise that is a long shot.

His funeral will be in Cumbria, where he settled after meeting and marrying my Mum in 1964, on 5 September.

Best regards,

Tim Oscroft
