P & O current reality.

I am amazed that I cannot see any comments on the stance made at P&O, are they being censored??

Is it P & O though ? ... or is that just a label leftover from a bygone era ...:(

Well Bob, SN has a lively discussion on the situation. Maybe I'm a little paranoid on the subject.

Apparently they were putting in for another pay rise. Do the sackings include engineers and mates. Not the once mighty P&O i sailed with, a very sad day.

P&O have got form for this sort of thing even back in the "good old days" when they were part of Trafalgar House. In 1998 they provoked a strike at Dover by imposing a new longer hours shorter money contract on all the crews and sacked anyone who resisted it. Working in cahoots with other shipowners they took the union(NUS then) to court under the Thatcher anti union rules and sequestered all their money and property. Here we are 20 odd years later and the new Dubai owned P&O are doing much the same. We will now see plenty of empathic bleating from our government but those seafarers will never get their jobs and conditions back and P&O will get what they wanted

I'm not amazed Ted. SN is still the preferred site for Seafarers.......
