Spotted on the web the QM is up for auction shortly as her present leasures Eagle Hospitality of Singapore have filed for bankruptcy and she is part of the hotel group. The projected cost over the next several years to bring her back to previous glory and urgent repairs would be $289m. Long Beach actually owns the QM but leases it out to third parties who are responsible for care and maintenance.

Once a very large man made construction becomes a financial liability of considerable magnitude, it's time ,sadly, to call in the scrap merchants to start the recycling process.
