Hi Chris,

Good to have you on board - let's get this show on the road! :)

Lots of the old crowd aboard. Glad I have joined, off for a large G & T in the bar. Cheers, Roger B

The faces here are quite bright as the mirrors are polished on this new ship!

Thanks, many thanks.

One thing that is 'perfect' is the ability to post photos without having to resize to the 500 kb size. No problem before, but then I ended up with Windows 10 there is no easy way to resize photos. Nuisance and takes too much time. With 'SH' I tried posting a large file 2.4 MB. It went straight through and was automatically resized down to about 100kb. Thanks for a small mercy!

I have a question. The owners SH are same as SN? Is there any way the photo files at SN could be transferred SH? I fear that it will be impossible and might be a real copyright problem. If we loose the old SN files we will be in 'diep kak'!

Stephen, I have the same question re access to SN particularly for 'my photos' and 'my favourites'. It would be tragic to lose access to those features. Many of the SN forum topics are of historical value as well.

I hope this can be sorted and that all that good stuff doesn't go down with the old ship.

We're all new on board but welcome anyway.
SH is owned by the original owners - As you know SN had been passed to new owners who were not taking proper care of her, and your 'support' made not a blind bit of difference unfortunately. I guess there will be some support provision on here at some time.

Apparently the best way to transfer your photos is to open it on SN, save it back to your computer, and then upload from there.
Even better is if you still have the original files on your computer!
Steve cannot do a bulk transfer because of, as you say, the copyright issues of all sorts of other folk's pix.

Malcolm.

It was mentioned elsewhere, but some postings on the old site were by members who have crossed the bar. Stan Mayes, for one, had a lot of valuable posts and images. I wonder if his son is aware of the situation, and if he could effect a transfer of Stan's legacy? I have an interest because he sailed in Eagle Oil like my late father during WWII.
