Hello Everyone!

My name is Bob Smith - I went to sea when I was 16 - I first attended the Sea Training School, Gravesend, as a catering boy. Spent five years (1960-65) on P&O passenger ships first as a bell boy and ended up as a Public Room Steward. I worked on the Arcadia, Iberia, Stratheden, Chathay, and Chitral. In 1965 I left P&O and went to work for the Post Office, London, as a telephone engineer. Came to the states, got married and settled down. Now retired and thinking about writing a memoir. Would like to contact any old shipmates or others who had served on the same ships or had similar experiences as a working-class kid leaving a secondary modern school going to sea looking for adventure.
Cheers,
Bob

Welcome aboard Bob.
Have a look around. I think you might be in the right place.

Nice introduction, Bob. Welcome aboard.

My schooling was the original, one and only, Technical Comprehensive school in England. Formerly Wallasey Technical Grammar, then the Mosslands School. I am a former engineer with Ocean T&T/Blue Funnel.

Best Regards,
Dave
Mexico City.
