Must be another of my family. I am a Hawkey from my mothers side. Maternal grandmother a Hawkey from Liskeard. Had an uncle Robert who had granite mines. Also associated with Llanlivery.

My mums best freind was a Kitty Hawkey & her husband Jack Hawkey
Jack worked on the railway at Newquay , Cornwall .they had a son called John .
Respect in those days us kids had to call adults by their surname but we were
allowed to call her auntie kitty

lost touch with any of the family in Cornwall - not that I have tried to find them! No doubt
if I bowled up in any country pub and shouted any Hawkeys in here I would find a few!
