Ahoy!

Ahoy there! Richard is my name on this forum.
My main hope is that there will be a wider spectrum of subjects, and less what I perceive as snobbery that another site has. Where SOME people think that their department or rank is all important.
I was mainly a GP seaman with BP, though worked on passenger ships for the first three years of my seagoing career. After swallowing the anchor and joining the civil service, I returned to working on the water in 1998, on cross Solent ferries. Now retired and living on the IOW.
I have no truck with snobbery, I like everyone else, worked on ships, and that's the important thing for me, not who did what.
Rank is important at sea, but not on forums methinks. :D

Hello Richard, nice to see you on board. Any chance that you will keep us up to date with number one Grandson? We're all meeting in the bar later!

Roy.

Joshua as he is today. He's growing like mad at the moment and keen to live a more independent lifestyle. :)
