Furness Withy C/W, John Ratcliffe??

Peter John Ratcliffe (69)

If anyone can give an update on this gentleman his brother, who pulls a mean pint at the Market in Douglas, would be interested to know.

He was with Furness Withy and reached C/E.

I don't think the old phrase "Will learn something to his advantage" applies, it is out of (seemingly loose) fraternal interest.

(For those worried about prudence but 'in the know' simply passing on the query to him would be as appreciated).

Sorry, David -- don't remember the name of any C/E's while with Furness -- just a whole bunch of MacDonalds from Islay as bo'sun and able seamen.

Lucky man, Tom. Only on the GTVs did I have the pleasure of sailing with such gentlemen in numbers.

Thanks for the note. I seem to be drawing a blank.

Didn't sail on either, but, as I remember, the Newfoundland and the Nova Scotia were generally known in the company as the best submarines on the North Atlantic.

That was before the ore carrier, the Sagamore was run by Furness.
