Evergiven

She is due to enter the Suez Canal today, no doubt with very senior SCA pilots on board. Good luck and Bon voyage this time.

Engine Serang 11th December 2021 09:49

4 tugs and a JCB on Stand By.

BobClay 11th December 2021 10:02

Given the damage we saw last time, perhaps we could put a woolly glove on the bucket of the JCB. :p

R58484957 11th December 2021 15:59

According to the Guardian newspaper she has cleared the canal and is now heading towards the Red Sea, what a load of rubbish he should be sacked. She was accompanied by two tugs.

Malcolm G 11th December 2021 16:52

I assume that the Guardian are referring to her southbound transit on the way to the repair yard.

Just a bit behind with the news...

R58484957 11th December 2021 17:12

Sorry for the duff information I never read the date on the paper, you are correct it was outbound they were referring too. My apologies.

Engine Serang 11th December 2021 17:38

Southbound!!! Shirley not, she is carrying all of Tesco's Christmas Cards.

Malcolm G 11th December 2021 18:41

Still heading in the right direction ES.
And don't call me Shirley.:p

R58484957 12th December 2021 08:27

She is now heading for Rotterdam. The SCA will shortly be increasing dues by 6% to transit the canal

BillH 12th December 2021 10:21

I presume that the 6% increase is to enable them to claw back their losses while the canal was blocked?

Varley 12th December 2021 13:07

Perhaps they want to buy a bigger JCB.

Malcolm G 12th December 2021 14:24

Now clear and into the Med.
They won’t the digger this time.

john Cassels 13th December 2021 08:22

Which Digger ? , the one from NSW ?.

Malcolm G 13th December 2021 08:36

No, a Chinese rip-off of one of Mr Bamford’s excellent machines.:smoking:

R58484957 20th December 2021 11:50

Evergiven now in Rotterdam, at least she made it with no mishaps, cutting it a bit fine to get her cargo into the shops for Christmas.

Engine Serang 20th December 2021 13:51

Won't be out the Dock Gate much before Valentines Day.
Probably.
