Those readers of Sea Breezes, Shipping Today & Yesterday and the like will I am sure have enjoyed the articles by Captain Sandy Kinghorn - cadet to senior master at Blue Star Line and much else in between. His experiences on local steamers around China waters are particularly memorable.

Captain Sandy passed away on 12 May 2021, peacefully at home, surrounded by family, at the age of 88.

Have read and enjoyed many of Sandy`s accounts through his career at Blue Star and after with a Far East shipping company. R.I.P.

I don't remember where or when I met him. Quite a legendary person, RIP Capt. Sandy.
