Unknown ship
Hello,
I am doing some family history and found Frederick Charles Hey in Liverpool in 1939. I think his occupation is a Utility Steward. I would like to find a picture of his ship. Can anyone identify the ship, and what information can be found using the discharge number and BR No. I am not sure if the picture is attached Thank you, Brian |
Brian,
Sorry no picture shown. If you post the info you have - discharge book number etc then I expect one of the members will be able to help you. Neville - Hawkey01 |

Hello Neville,
I have tried to post the image again, fingers crossed. Brian |
Behind Utility Steward it might read S.S. Laurentic (of 1927) ?

Hello Brian,
I can confirm it is ss LAURENTIC. Frederick Charles Hey b. Halifax 2.6.1874. Dis.A Number 873388. There is s WW1 medal file for him stating dob 1894 but it is the same man. The file can be downloaded from the National Archives in Kew from piece BT 351/1/62256 - http://discovery.nationalarchives.go...ils/r/D8029729 for £3.50. He has 6 cards in the Fourth Register of Seamen 1918-1941. His CR10 has his id photo. If he continued to serve in WW2 then there may be more records in BT 382. 131346 – OLYMPIC – 12.2.1919 140596 - REGINA – 10.9.1919 127981 – MEGANTIC – 9.11.1919 BALTIC – 22.10.1924 113476 – CELTIC - ?? BALTIC – 3.12.1930 144346 - ARABIC - ?? 149642 – LAURENTIC – 22.3.1934 Other research has found him on various other ship and voyages including those listed above plus MORRO CASTLE 1904, HUBERT 1904, CANOPIC 1922, BALTIC 1923/24, REGINA 1926, CELTIC 1920/21, OLYMPIC 1919.
