My name is Anthony Martin , always known as tony .
born and brought up in Newquay , Cornwall ,
Left School at 16 and went to Vindicatrix Sea Training School
at Sharpness , Glos , as a deckhand .

After signed on to Houlder Brothers oil tanker " CLUTHA RIVER " at
Falmouth Docks , Cornwall . she had just came out of the Drydock

still scanning " 35mm slides , a lot of them from my sea days in 1960,s , and 1980,s when i worked as a Riverman
for Truro Harbour Office . Cornwall . jobs included dredger crew / patrols with harbour launch / workboat doing mooring / oyster bailiff on the River Fal in a open boat / plus at Lighterage Quay truro tying up and letting go Coasters
