Storm Nelson.

Has anyone else spotted that the current bit of windyness over the UK has been named:
'Storm Nelson' by the Spanish Met Service. Significant to those readers of the 'Eagle' in the 1950s - 1960s. Adventure strip drawn by Richard Jennings. |
I do remember Storm Nelson and the Silver Fleet.
I wonder why the Spanish didn't choose Storm Grenville, or Storm Drake. Maybe next time? |

And, There's this place in Southern Spain..

Or even Storm Palomares. (Where that USAF B52 crashed with a load of thermonuclear warheads.)

Very windy here yesterday [ Thursday ] i was in town and got blown over , ended up on my back.
Only have 3% feeling in my feet and legs / very unsteady on my feet at best of times . I have one of those 4 wheel strollers with a seat i use and even with that got blown over with wind so strong . I have a big road legal mobility scooter but when its also raining hard cant use it and take a Taxi into town . Two nice young lads picked me up . Tony |
