I had a laptop die on me last year and removed...
I had a laptop die on me last year and removed the hard drive and using a cable bought from ebay and was able to transfer all my files to a new laptop. It is a usb to sata cable, hope the link works....

A couple of years ago the web site closed then it opened a page on Facebook where it was selling a memory stick with their whole database but this page has now closed also.
