Malcolm G, I also use AVAST antivirus and C Cleaner (which gets rid of cookies, deleted files etc) have done for over ten years with no problems and as you say both are fee for the basic versions.

What the scammers do is phone you and tell you that you are due an upgrade. They said they were from Carphone warehouse where my wife got her O2 phone....
