Whats keeping her in, its not like the Chinese to take so long. A motor way bridge near here took about a year to replace, the Chinese replaced a similar bridge in 49 hours.

A very detailed report of the Evergreen incident is given in the Bloomberg Business site. The bulbous bow was uplifted by 6 metres. Well worth the read.

According to Qingdao Beinai Shipbuilding site where she is being repaired ( mainly on the bulbous bow) she will be returned to her owners in about 3 weeks time.

The longest ship is x metres long so why not...

The longest ship is x metres long so why not dredge the canal to x metres plus so that both ends of the ship cannot touch both sides at once.
