I did little working with the MF usually being far away. However my two anecdotes are that we went from Colwyn Bay to visit Angleseyradio and a fellow student and now site member who shall remain named as Peter Eccleson crashed his car on the way back and we ended up directing traffic. And, as a Salvita has surfaced on Ebay, I can say that when I had one fully rigged on the bridge wing of Tilapa, anchored 'in the lee' of her aerial farm, I could not raise Niton (are CS's female?).
(On his junior trip he did have more success with an LB set which he has described here on on SN but not with a UK station if I remember correctly).
