Remember Swansea
When I was a youngster the view from my bedroom overlooked Swansea Bay and Swansea Docks. The bay saw many BP Tankers arriving and going into Kings Dock (or was it Queens Dock) to discharge oil - much from Aden. BP LLandarcy was the refining works and the Tank Farm on the sea front always had that interesting smell of oil. Because of the shipping in Swansea was the deciding factor to go to sea. Unfortunately my eyesight was not good enough to become a Deck Officer (good bye to BP), but sailed in the Pursers office for 10 enjoyable years.
