This photo is a colourised photo of the North Carolina class battleship Washington, anchored at Hvalfjord, Iceland, in 1942. The cruisers in the background are USS Wichita and HMS Kent. The selection of colors for the battleship goes against the description of the ship in all references I have come across, which describe her colors as Sea Blue, Ocean Gray and Haze Gray, in the Measure 12 (Modified) scheme. Whilst interpreting colours (colors) from black and white photos is a minefield, the green tinge (which may have led to the impression that the ship was Alabama - alledged to have been camouflaged in green at one stage) does not match any of the colors for this Measure.
