Whatever the gender into which one prefers to spend, the taking of port can lead to post prandial visions (as well as a little difficulty in the spending department). I wonder if the young lady had had a fine repast, Scrooge put his rendezvous with Mr. Marley down to undercooked potato and we know those in your heathen neck of the woods can produce something hallucinatory from that humble tuber. Lucia, I fear, had dined not wisely but too well (to coin a phrase).
