You might think that a weekend excused the company of your countryfolk would, indeed, be a bank holiday. However that would be untrue. At least partly so.

I have just had planted the Irish seed potatoes that arrived PAL earlier in the week and the fizz 'fridge is adequately stocked. A visit or a summons is, then, almost inevitable (despite the fizz hailing from Aldi). Anyway whilst work on Elphie is in intermission I can be shriven of the sin of pride by being thrashed at chess by another of that sometime Fenian family. Despite the cut glass accent he lauds his Hibernian ancestry (ergo no need for the same Shaman). I did manage to break a 9 or so run of humiliation on Tuesday (I know, a single bird is no harbinger).

God knows what happens if the bloody potatoes do not turn out better than mine already planted, I anticipate I will have to volunteer for ten tonnes of best rebel topsoil.
