I spoke to her builder just a few weeks ago, he was at one time a fellow employee of Smiths Dock's and started up his own Shipbuilding Yard on the Tees when Smiths went down the pan, at the time I was curious about the type of steel she was built with bearing in mind her age and that she is confined to her Berth due to changes on the river since she was built and is now in the same situation as HMS Kellington was.
Looking at the Lock alongside the Barrage there is a slight kink on the approach to the Lock from the up river end which I would have thought would have stopped this vessel getting through and the same reason why the Kellington could not be taken elsewhere to be scrapped.
I cannot see her being moved from her present location but I could be wrong.
