i drove them for Truro Rural District Council . Cornwall in the days of the galvanise dustbins .
The two strokes you couild tell because they had the twin headlights .

fitted with a ram unit on the back .
As you say they had a distinctive sound on the exhaust , our lorrys
had the exhaust going up the back of the cab just above the cab .
long distance ones at night going thought a quite village could hear they coming
a fair distance away
plus in my other post drove a sewerage Commer . out the two the sewerage
job was cleaner , only had to put a pipe in the tank suck it out , bucket of water
after to just clean end of pipe
