There are 2 classes of LHA/LHD. They are very similar to look at from the angle of the photo, this must be USS America.
The main differences are that the America Class has a hospital, and a larger well deck!
Of course neither of these can be seen in this photo!
This class apart from being a ‘development’, are about5,000 tons heavier.
45,000 tons compared to 40,000 tons.
