IN 1960,s i was driving my Mini Van along the Kingston by-pass in London
noticed a black Daimler Dart following me , got as far as Putney Common
when found out it was a unmarked Police car and they pulled me over .
they said i was speeding [ vans in those days resticted to 40 mph ] when they
looked under bonnet they found i had fitted a Mini Cooper S engine from my
mates crashed car .
Policeman who was passenger was very interested as he done Rally driving
but in the end still got a ticket .
in all my years driving all sorts of vehicles including motorbikes that was
the only ticket .
