This day 50 years ago I mitched off school for the afternoon. I was thumbing a lift to the local village, a lorry stopped and I climbed in. The driver wondered if he was breaking the law by helping me to mitch school and thought it was a great joke, then he said did I hear the One o'clock news that Robert Kennedy had been shot in America. Most people remember where they were when they heard President Kennedy was shot but I remember his brother.
