Ring any bells?
Hi Doug,
The grey cells are struggling a bit, but 'WOW' Williams was skipper on the Monarch and the mate was ex-Clan Line, but I don't recollect his name. On Chief, Carstairs was skipper, Andy Notman mate, me 2/0 and John Thurston 3/0. Not sure about Storm as I was only there three weeks coastal before being relieved by Matt McCourt at Kiel Canal. On the Knight, Billings was skipper, Haggard was mate, me 2/0 and Matt McCourt also 2/0. We also carried and ex Athel apprentice who had been a Kalamazoo salesman before returning to sea as extra C/0, but his name escapes me at present time, but I think he subsequently became pilot/superintendent with Dubai Petroleum. I think Humphries was one of the cadets on Monarch.
